John has well over 20 years achievement at the highest levels right across the housing and regeneration field, including housing strategy, urban regeneration, and housing management and investment.

His special enthusiasm is for developing approaches, plans and programmes that successfully bridge the strategic and operational divide.

Since joining Sector Weedon Grant in 2005, he has developed its housing and regeneration services portfolio, providing strategic and operational services, project development and financial planning to councils, housing associations and government agencies.

Previously, as Director of Investment and Regeneration for Glasgow Housing Association, he had a leading role in the largest, most complex UK housing transfer, through a troubled pre-transfer period, on into the development and implementation of strategies and programmes delivering transformational change for Glasgow.

For Sheffield City Council, as Head of Housing Strategy, he was responsible for the development of a highly regarded approach to housing strategy, the future of council housing, area regeneration, housing market renewal, investment and maintenance.

His previous experience includes, as Head of Sheffield Housing Management Services, developing a modern housing management service to successfully meet the challenge of CCT, and, before that a wide range of roles in Sheffield, London and Scotland including valuable front-line experience in challenging places.
