After a range of formal training and experience in local government finance, Nigel’s career has, since 1991, centred on providing high quality consultancy and advice, primarily but not exclusively to housing organisations involved in stock transfer. This has been as Managing Director of Sector Weedon Grant Ltd (or its predecessor body DHB Grant), sub-contracting to other consultants (eg PWC in England, or Ernst and Young in Scotland), or whilst as a manager with Chapman Hendy Associates.

He has worked successfully with over seventy major local authority, housing association, or central government clients. Over thirty of the commissions have involved lead consultancy work pre or post ballot (or both) in stock transfer and related assignments.

Nigel’s particular areas of expertise are LSVT lead consultancy advice, and the valuation, business planning, and financial strategies of registered social landlords (housing associations) and local housing authorities.

Nigel has had leading roles in the successful, large and complex Tameside and Sunderland grouped transfers. He has also advised on the Glasgow stock transfer (through Ernst & Young) at the pre-ballot stage, and also Wakefield MDC in the post-ballot phase of their (largest to date) stock transfer to a single landlord.  In overall terms, Nigel has been advising on stock transfer since 1991 almost without break and has experience of over 35 transfers.
